Sump Pump, Westchester IL
March 2, 2023
Recently, Larry’s plumbing installed a sump pump for a residential plumbing customer in Westchester, IL.
Removed old sump pump and installed new one in customers basement. If this pump wasn’t changed out it’s possible that the customer on the next heavy rain fall could’ve gotten water in their basement.
Customer was very happy that she received a new sump pump with an extended warranty.
Returned to the job site to televise the roof drain from inside the building to the outside manhole. Utilized a lift to cut out the existing leaking 6" roof drain connection and multiple fittings. Removed debris and prepared the area. Re-piped the main 6" PVC and fittings, installed a cleanout, and secured the pipe vertically with support hangers and bracing. Tested the system and cleaned the work area. It's now ready for use. Hydro jetted from the cleanout of the roof drain towards the side of the building's manhole. Flushed the fixture and conducted tests, which passed. It is ready for use.
8/18/26 After sawcut and concreted removal, excavated down to new 6" SDR on outside and to old 4" cast iron on inside area 5' deep. Broke out old CI and tunneled under foundation. Stubbed new 6" grease line into building with wye and cleanout. Bedded in stone. Removed concrete and hauled away spoil. 8/19/26 Returned after inspection to backfill in stone over bottom of footing and haul spoil. Removed all inside spoil and hauled away.
Arrived to jobsite and met with pumper truck in order to service the 2 pump pits. Began pumping the pit all the way in back flushing it as well with tons of water. Began pumping other pump pit, flushing it down as well. Found lots of debris in pits like plastic and metal. Jetted from L2 to B7 as well as televised, drains are clear. Descaled trench drains in B7 ,L2 ,and GR1. Flushed all drains in B7,L2 and GR1. Everything is working properly. Cleaned work area.
