At Larry's Plumbing, we know that great plumbers aren't just born—they're built through hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn. Today, we're excited to celebrate an important milestone as Jonathan Sanchez approaches his one-year anniversary with our team. Congratulations, Jonathan, on an incredible first year! A Passion for Plumbing Started Early Jonathan graduated from West Leyden High School in 2025 with a clear interest in pursuing a career in the plumbing industry. During his senior year, he enrolled in an eight-week evening course through UA Local 130 , where he gained experience with basic plumbing mathematics and hands-on training. Although he applied to Local 130's apprenticeship program and took the aptitude test, he didn't achieve the passing score he had hoped for. Instead of giving up, Jonathan stayed focused on his goal of becoming a plumber. Sometimes the best opportunities come from unexpected places. The Opportunity That Changed Everything A few months after graduation, Jonathan's high school career director reached out to see if he was still interested in plumbing. After receiving his resume, they forwarded it to Ray , owner of Larry's Plumbing. About a month later, Jonathan received the phone call that would begin his career. Ray asked a simple question: "Can you start tomorrow?" Jonathan didn't hesitate. He eagerly accepted the opportunity and showed up ready to learn. Never Forgetting Day One Jonathan still remembers his very first day at Larry's Plumbing. It was August 12 , and his first assignment was digging. While it may not have been the glamorous side of plumbing, it was the beginning of learning the trade from the ground up. Working alongside Jake, Jack, Fortino, and Anthony, Jonathan quickly realized there was a lot to learn. Having never dug on a plumbing job before, Fortino took the time to teach him the proper techniques and help him get started. Those early lessons laid the foundation for everything that followed. A Year of Growth Over the past year, Jonathan has developed new plumbing skills, gained valuable field experience, and become an important member of the Larry's Plumbing team. Like every successful tradesperson, he understands that learning never stops. When asked about his experience, Jonathan reflected: "I'm near to reaching a year at Larry's Plumbing and I've learned so much, but there's still much more to learn." That attitude is exactly what makes great plumbers. Investing in the Next Generation At Larry's Plumbing, we believe in giving motivated individuals the opportunity to build rewarding careers in the skilled trades. Jonathan's journey is a perfect example that determination, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work hard can open doors to a successful future. We're proud to have watched Jonathan grow over the past year, and we're excited to see what he'll accomplish in the years ahead. Congratulations, Jonathan! From everyone at Larry's Plumbing, congratulations on reaching your first anniversary with the company. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and eagerness to learn every day. We appreciate everything you've contributed to the team and look forward to watching your career continue to grow. Here's to many more successful years ahead!
